What I Believe

What I believe

This isn't meant to be preachy or a sermon, just sharing some thoughts.

I believe there is a design in life, and a higher power or designer that created life. I believe there is a God and Christ is the human representation of God.

I pray a lot; I pray for all of you everyday. I believe there is power in prayer. I think there are benefits to praying. Whether it is because of the relationship with God, the self reflection and meditation, or because it is rooted in hope and provides something to look forward to for the future. All are beneficial aspects.

Hope is very powerful. Hope implies there is a better future. It keeps us looking forward instead of backward and dwelling on the past. Dwelling on past mistakes, whether our own, or mistakes others have inflicted upon us, is not healthy. It wastes our time and efforts. We must forgive ourselves, and try to forgive others, so we can move on. We should learn from the past, and take action to improve upon our mistakes by improving ourselves; and by trying to forgive others, we limit the time and energy we might spend dwelling on their offenses. We should focus on the improvements that we can make in our own lives and the lives of those around us. When we improve upon our past selves we open the path to become better for the future. The bible is a lesson in hope for the future. Bad things happened, but there is hope of a better time to come. The point is to look toward a better future, striving and hoping forward.

True love is the willingness to sacrifice ourselves: our time, our money, our goals to make the lives of those around us better. We should use our efforts to help those around us have a better future. I believe that each of you are blessed, and I have hope that we all will have a happy future.

Our mind, body, and soul are connected. The soul is the reservoir of our beliefs and the system behind what drives our goals and provides the motivation to our minds. The mind is where we make our plans, decide upon what we are going to focus on and what we want to achieve. The body gives us the machinery to execute our plans, putting them into action. Focusing on the past inhibits our ability to hope for the future. Have hope in your hearts and focus on a better future.

What are your beliefs? I am interested in understanding what each of you believe. Not judging, just curious what motivates you and what the reservoir of your soul holds as truth. When you have the time and the inclination pull me aside and share your hopes, dreams, and beliefs with me.Â
